Delta Achieves Double "A" Leadership Rating from CDP for Climate Change and Water Security
Delta Electronics (DAL), a global leader in power management and sustainable solutions, has been awarded the double "A List" designation in the 2025 CDP reports for "Climate Change" and "Water Security." This recognition marks the fifth consecutive year that Delta has achieved this accolade, placing it among less than 1% of over 22,000 companies evaluated globally.
Delta's Commitment to Sustainability
Delta has integrated environmental concerns, such as climate change, water security, and biodiversity, into its core sustainability strategies. In a significant move, the company has elevated its sustainability committee to the board level, demonstrating a commitment to overseeing and executing sustainability initiatives effectively.
Jesse Chou, Delta's Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, emphasized the importance of this strategic transformation: "Driven by the increasing frequency of extreme weather and the global emphasis on sustainability, Delta—with strong support from its management team—elevated its sustainability committee... This strategic shift ensures direct board oversight of Delta's sustainability strategies."
Significant Emissions Reductions
In terms of climate governance, Delta has achieved an impressive 53.6% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions in 2024 compared to a 2021 baseline. Furthermore, Delta's operational sites have reached an 84% renewable electricity usage rate, underscoring the company’s progress in sustainable energy adoption.
Delta is also making strides in reducing Scope 3 emissions by establishing dedicated subcommittees to address indirect emissions linked to upstream procurement and downstream product use. This cross-functional effort aims to develop comprehensive management strategies to mitigate overall emissions.
Investments in Carbon Reduction
In 2024, Delta invested an impressive US$ 21 million through its internal carbon pricing mechanism. This funding has led to carbon emission reductions exceeding 37,000 metric tons. The company's Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) Report, released in 2025, has garnered significant attention and recognition within the industry.
Delta continues to enhance supplier engagement, with more than half of its procurement value coming from tier-1 suppliers that are committed to Science-Based Targets (SBT). Over 60% of these significant suppliers have signed the "Carbon Reduction Commitment." This indicates a strong collaborative effort towards reducing carbon footprints throughout Delta's supply chain.
Water Security Initiatives
Although Delta is not a high-water-consumption company, it is proactively addressing water stress challenges. In 2024, the Delta Board approved a new Water Resource Policy to enhance resilience against climate change and water scarcity. Notably, the company's overall water productivity intensity (WPI) decreased by 30.7% from the 2020 baseline, greatly exceeding the 2025 target of a 10% reduction.
Additionally, Delta has engaged with the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) framework to ensure that its corporate water use aligns with the needs of natural ecosystems.
Recognition and Impact
CDP's assessment is considered the gold standard for corporate environmental transparency. With over 640 investors representing more than US$ 127 trillion in assets and 270 major procurement organizations with combined spending of US$ 6.4 trillion, transparency in environmental impact is vital.
Delta has been recognized on CDP's "A List" for Water Security for six consecutive years and has maintained "Leadership" recognition for Climate Change on ten occasions, cementing its role as an industry leader in sustainability.
