KBR Awarded Front-End Engineering Design Contract for Coastal Bend LNG Project
HOUSTON, Jan. 12, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KBR (NYSE: KBR) has secured a significant contract for the front-end engineering design (FEED) of the Coastal Bend natural gas liquefaction and export facility located on the Texas Gulf Coast. This project, aimed at enhancing natural gas capabilities, includes multiple liquefaction trains, cogeneration components, LNG storage tanks, and export facilities.
Project Overview and Technology Integration
The Coastal Bend LNG project will leverage ConocoPhillips’ Optimized Cascade® Process (COP OCP) technology. This innovative approach is designed to support the project's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, an essential aspect of modern energy production.
KBR will spearhead the FEED initiative, encompassing the complete inside battery limits (ISBL) scope, which includes:
- LNG liquefaction and nitrogen rejection using COP OCP technology
- Gas treatment processes
- Heavy hydrocarbon removal through Honeywell UOP technologies
Additionally, KBR will facilitate overall coordination among stakeholders and support Coastal Bend in fulfilling its FERC filings and permitting requirements.
