Kroll Settlement Administration Announces Settlement for Robinhood Accountholders
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 5, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kroll Settlement Administration has issued a notification regarding the In re Robinhood Order Flow Litigation, Master File 4:20-cv-09328-YGR (N.D. Cal). This notice specifically concerns all United States customers of Robinhood Financial LLC, Robinhood Securities, LLC, and Robinhood Markets, Inc. who held an account between September 1, 2016, and September 1, 2018.
Eligibility for Settlement Class
To qualify as a member of the Settlement Class, individuals must have:
- Placed one or more qualifying trades, which includes market orders to purchase equities executed at a price higher than the National Best Offer or market orders to sell equities executed at a price lower than the National Best Bid, during market hours.
- An aggregate difference of over $5.00 between execution prices and the National Best Bid/Offer for these qualifying trades.
Important Hearing Details
A hearing will be held on May 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. PT before the Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers at the United States District Court, Northern District of California. The court will decide on several key issues:
- Whether to approve the proposed $2,000,000 settlement as fair, reasonable, and adequate.
- Whether to enter a judgment dismissing this action with prejudice.
- To award Lead Counsel attorneys’ expenses from the Settlement Fund.
- To approve the Plan of Allocation as fair and adequate.
How to Claim Your Share
Identified Settlement Class Members with an active Robinhood account in good standing will automatically receive their pro rata share of the Net Settlement Fund. Members without an active account must submit a Proof of Claim electronically or by mail by July 13, 2026, or within 60 days following the final approval order, to establish their rights.
Failure to submit a proof of claim may result in rejection of claims and exclusion from the settlement recovery.
Exclusions and Objections
Anyone wishing to be excluded from the Settlement Class must submit a request for exclusion postmarked by March 30, 2026. All Settlement Class Members will be bound by the court's decisions, including any judgments related to the settlement, even if they do not submit a timely proof of claim. Members also have the right to object to the settlement or request for attorneys’ expenses, with all objections to be filed by March 30, 2026.
