Amazon Pharmacy, a full-service online pharmacy, today announced the expansion of RxPass in Texas, bringing its $5 monthly prescription subscription service to a state which ranks fourth highest in the percentage of U.S. adults with three or more chronic conditions. The Prime member benefit allows Texans, including Medicare beneficiaries, to access over 50 commonly prescribed medications that treat conditions like anxiety, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease for just $5 per month, regardless of how many prescriptions they need, with free two-day delivery and same-day service in eligible locations.

RxPass has been shown to improve medication adherence—a critical factor for the estimated 133 million Americans managing at least one chronic illness.

"Many customers, especially older adults, face multiple barriers when managing chronic conditions that could be life-altering," said Tess Carey, a Senior Pharmacist at Amazon Pharmacy. "With RxPass, customers can enjoy the benefits of having affordable, reliable medication access, which will increase adherence and help save lives."

Nearly nine in ten (89%) adults 65 and older report taking prescription medications, with more than half (54%) managing four or more prescriptions. For these patients, RxPass offers both convenience and savings.

Healthcare providers can prescribe medications directly to Amazon Pharmacy just as they would with any other pharmacy, while customers can also easily transfer existing prescriptions. Licensed and trained pharmacists are available 24/7 to address customers' questions about medications.

With this expansion, RxPass is now available in 48 states nationwide, representing Amazon's continued commitment to making healthcare more accessible and affordable for customers.
