Duke Energy Florida files plans for four new solar energy sites, adding nearly 300 megawatts of energy to the electric grid
1. DUK Florida files a 2025 Solar Base Rate Adjustment filing. It plans four solar sites with a $521M investment. 2. Four solar centers in FL will ultimately save customers $843M over service lifetimes. Each site powers roughly 23,000 homes. 3. Projects create 150 temporary jobs per site and add nearly 300MW of carbon-free energy. Construction targets completion by summer 2026. 4. Duke Energy Florida is expanding its clean portfolio among 25 existing solar sites. It supports Duke Energy’s long-term energy transition.
