EVgo Accelerates Network Expansion with Domestically Made Prefabricated Charging Skids

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EVgo Inc. (NASDAQ: EVGO), a leading provider of public fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs), has successfully deployed over 40% of its charging stations this year using domestically manufactured prefabricated modular skids. This milestone, achieved ahead of schedule, is largely attributed to a robust commissioning of new stations in the early fourth quarter.

Efficiencies Through Strategic Partnerships

EVgo's collaboration with Miller Electric Company, a prominent electrical contractor based in Jacksonville, Florida, has been instrumental in this expansion. Miller Electric specializes in complex electrical systems and has helped to significantly accelerate station installation timelines while reducing overall installation costs by an impressive 15%.

The prefabrication process involves assembling all necessary charging equipment onto a single base frame made from American steel and aluminum at Miller Electric’s facility. This method not only assures consistent, high-quality installations but also promotes local job creation.

Supporting Local Job Creation

Since the partnership began in 2023, EVgo's work with Miller Electric has led to substantial job growth, with Miller Electric now employing over 1,400 people in the Jacksonville area. Dennis Kish, President of EVgo, emphasized the dual benefit of this approach, stating, “The prefabrication model is a win-win for EVgo because we can fast-track infrastructure deployment to meet charging demand and support workforce development in this growing industry.”

Miller Electric's Group President, Pat Eliason, added that this prefabrication helps deliver consistently high-quality installations while reducing timelines and costs, underscoring the importance of domestic manufacturing for a sustainable future.

Enhanced Customer Experience

The prefabricated stations, now operational for EV drivers in states including California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nebraska, New York, and Texas, are also set to enhance customer experience. Features such as Wi-Fi infrastructure, lighting, security cameras, and canopies can be seamlessly integrated into the charging stations.

These prefabricated stations, unveiled in 2025, have the capability to charge up to 14 vehicles simultaneously and are equipped with high-power 350kW fast chargers exclusively.
