Olympic Steel Promotes Brant Harbert to General Manager

CLEVELAND--()--Olympic Steel Inc. (Nasdaq: ZEUS), a leading national metals service center, has announced the promotion of Brant Harbert to the role of General Manager for the Company’s three Bedford Heights, Ohio, and Dover, Ohio, facilities. Mr. Harbert’s predecessor, Kevin Miller, has been promoted to a new leadership role within the organization.

Mr. Harbert joined the Company in 2014 as an Inside Sales Representative for Olympic Steel’s Bedford Heights and Dover facilities before moving into his most recent role as Regional Sales Manager. In his new role, Mr. Harbert will be responsible for the daily operations and growth of the Company’s Bedford Heights and Dover facilities, which include one of the Company’s three temper mills.

“In the decade Brant has been with Olympic Steel, he has had a significant impact on our growth in the region, and we’re proud to recognize his contributions to the Company and his continued advancement within the organization,” said David J. Gea, President – Carbon Flat Rolled. “Since we first opened the doors to our Cleveland facility, we have continued to invest in our Bedford Heights operation, most recently with the installation of several new lasers to support our fabrication market growth and a stacking and packaging line to increase throughput capacity. We look forward to the continued strategic growth of this location under Brant’s leadership.”

Mr. Harbert earned both his bachelor’s degree in marketing and his master’s degree in business management from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio.

Mr. Harbert will report directly to Andrew Wolfort, Vice President – Specialty Metals. Mr. Wolfort also oversees Olympic Steel’s temper mill facility located in Gary, Indiana, which will allow the Company to further align growth efforts for temper passed product in the region.
