NEW YORK, Sept. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Global (NYSE:SPGI) today announced the appointment of key leadership roles in the S&P Global Mobility ("Mobility") division, effective today.

Scott Fredericks, current Chief Operating Officer of CARFAX, has been appointed President of CARFAX. He succeeds Bill Eager, who was recently appointed President of S&P Global Mobility and CEO designate upon completion of Mobility's planned separation from S&P Global into a standalone public company.

Joe Lafeir, current President of Automotive Insights, a business within Mobility, has been appointed President of Mobility Business Solutions. In this role, Mr. Lafeir will lead Mobility's new B2B business line, comprising Automotive Insights and automotiveMastermind.

Mr. Fredericks and Mr. Lafeir will both report to Mr. Eager.

S&P Global expects to complete the separation of the Mobility business within 12 to 18 months from the date of the separation announcement, subject to the satisfaction of customary legal and regulatory requirements and approvals, including final approval of the S&P Global Board of Directors and effectiveness of a Form 10 registration statement to be filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Additional key leadership appointments will be announced in due course as the Company continues to shape the Mobility executive team for the next phase of growth.

About Scott Fredericks

Scott Fredericks is President of CARFAX, a business of S&P Global Mobility. He has nearly three decades of experience in the automotive information industry, notably having served as Chief Operating Officer at CARFAX since June 2022. He joined CARFAX as Vice President of Marketing, in 1997. Under his leadership, the team developed and launched CARFAX as a well-known and trusted consumer brand. Mr. Fredericks also led the launch of key products such as Used Car Listings and CARFAX Car Care that expanded the company's reach and growth. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fredericks served as a communications director for the U.S. Air Force for 10 years.

In addition, he served as Board Chair, Board member and Executive Committee member of the Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia from 2008 to 2016.

Mr. Fredericks holds a B.A. in government & politics from the University of Maryland and a degree from George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM).

Joe Lafeir is President of Mobility Business Solutions, comprising Automotive Insights and automotiveMastermind. He brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across automotive information brands, including the past nine years as President of Automotive Insights. Under his leadership at Automotive Insights, he successfully strengthened the business's leadership position by expanding offerings that address the most pressing needs of the automotive industry, from the transition to electrification and advancements in technology to vehicle pricing and consumer marketing. Earlier in his career, he served in management roles across product development and technology at R.L. Polk, where he served as CIO. He began his career at Ernst & Young and Capgemini where he spent 12 years in their management consulting practice.

He currently serves on the Board of GreenPath, a national financial wellness nonprofit, and LifeLab Kids, a nonprofit serving special needs children in southeast Michigan.

Mr. Lafeir holds a B.S. in computer science from Bowling Green State University.
