Beginning Monday, January 5, the renowned 12–3 p.m. ET time slot will be anchored by Alex Marlow, Editor-in-Chief of Breitbart News, and Scott Jennings, CNN political commentator and veteran conservative strategist. This strategic move marks a significant transition in one of talk radio's most storied blocks.

Introducing the New Midday Hosts

Starting January 5, Alex Marlow will take the helm of the first hour from 12–1 p.m. ET, followed by Scott Jennings, who will expand his existing SRN program to two hours from 1–3 p.m. ET. This lineup not only honors the rich history of the midday block, which was previously home to influential figures like Rush Limbaugh and the late Charlie Kirk, but also aims to continue their legacy of impactful conservative dialogue.

Quotes Reflecting Commitment to Conservative Values

Phil Boyce, Senior Vice President of Content for Salem Media, emphasized the significance of this transition: “This is an important moment for Salem. We have earned the trust of conservative audiences for decades and do not take that lightly. Scott Jennings and Alex Marlow each bring a distinct voice, a rare ability to engage audiences, and real seriousness to the conversation.”

Current States and Future Plans

Both hosts are well-acquainted with the Salem audience from their previous work across the Salem Podcast Network (SPN) and SRN. Scott Jennings, who has been hosting a one-hour show since July 14, currently reaches over 173 stations nationwide, and with this new schedule, his audience will expand to more than 200 stations. His program will also be available through SPN and live-streamed on the Salem News Channel (SNC).

Reflections from the New Hosts

Scott Jennings expressed gratitude for the opportunity: “These are some of the most important hours in talk radio... I’m grateful to Salem for the trust they’ve placed in me to step into that legacy.” Additionally, Alex Marlow, who launched “The Alex Marlow Show” as a podcast in November 2024, shared his excitement, stating, “I have deep respect for the Salem audience... I can't wait to get started.”

Continuing the Legacy of Charlie Kirk

The new lineup will succeed The Charlie Kirk Show in the SRN midday block. Despite this change, The Charlie Kirk Show will continue to be available as a podcast on the Salem Podcast Network, ensuring that the show's impact endures. Andrew Kolvet, Executive Producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, praised Salem's support throughout this process, expressing confidence in Marlow and Jennings as successors.

Acknowledging Challenges and Dedication

Following the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk on September 10, his team has shown remarkable dedication in continuing his mission. Andrew Kolvet will remain co-host of the podcast, ensuring that the values and discussions initiated by Kirk persist in the current media landscape.
