SunPower Files Q3'25 10Q Report with SEC
SunPower Inc. (NASDAQ: SPWR), a leading firm in solar technology and installation services, has filed its Q3 2025 10Q report with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This report, made public on December 19, 2025, highlights key adjustments that investors should note regarding the company's financial standing.
Significant Updates from the Q3'25 Report
The primary difference in the filed Q3'25 10Q report compared to the provisional draft submitted to auditors on November 5, 2025, is an increase of $1.1 million in bad-debt reserves. This adjustment raises SunPower's total reserves from $7.1 million to $8.2 million, significantly surpassing the typical $0.45 million quarterly drawdown. According to CEO T.J. Rodgers, “Investors should be confident that we have more than adequate reserves.”
Challenges in Addressing Aged Accounts Receivable
Rodgers explained that the delay in finalizing the reserve increase was due to the substantial effort required to resolve uncertainties surrounding aged accounts receivable (AR) from previous business transactions. The company collaborated with 40 homebuilders who had aged AR, and is now collecting payments from 38 of them after a thorough line-by-line recreation of their invoices.
“Honesty and transparency with investors over 41 years allowed me to raise over $4 billion in funding, including $150 million used to stabilize SunPower,” said Rodgers. However, he pointed out that this reserve adjustment affected the company’s non-GAAP operating income, which decreased from $3.123 million to $2.123 million, contradicting the previously declared record performance.
Improving Confidence in Collections
Despite the challenges, SunPower has successfully contacted all customers associated with its aged AR ledger, which has heightened confidence in their ability to collect outstanding payments. “We still own those systems – and can literally flip a switch to deactivate them,” added Rodgers, indicating a strategic advantage in supporting their collection efforts.
