BOSTON, Oct. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The China Fund, Inc. (NYSE:CHN) (the "Fund") announced today that a Special Meeting of Fund stockholders is scheduled to be held virtually at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern time) on October 21, 2025 (the "Special Meeting"), to approve a plan of liquidation and dissolution (the "Plan") for the Fund. More detailed information about the proposed liquidation and Plan is set forth in a proxy statement to be mailed on or around October 9, 2025, to the Fund's stockholders of record. The Board of Directors (the "Board") previously approved the Plan, and recommends that the Fund's stockholders vote for the liquidation of the Fund at the Special Meeting.

The Fund filed a proxy statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC") today with respect to the proposal to liquidate the Fund. As noted, copies of the Fund's proxy statement will also be mailed to each stockholder of record of the Fund. The Board has fixed the close of business on September 26, 2025, as the record date for the determination of the stockholders of the Fund entitled to notice of and to vote at the Fund's Special Meeting and any adjournment or postponement thereof.
