(“Akebia”) (Nasdaq: AKBA), a biopharmaceutical company with the purpose to better the lives of people impacted by kidney disease, today announced the pricing of its underwritten public offering (the “Offering”) of 25,000,000 shares of its common stock at a public offering price of $2.00 per share. All shares are being offered by Akebia. The gross proceeds to Akebia from the Offering, before deducting underwriting discounts, commissions and other offering expenses, are expected to be $50.0 million. In addition, Akebia has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 3,750,000 additional shares of its common stock at the public offering price, less underwriting discounts and commissions. The Offering is expected to close on March 21, 2025, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions. Leerink Partners and Piper Sandler & Co. are acting as joint bookrunning managers for the Offering. BTIG, LLC is acting as lead manager and H.C. Wainwright & Co. is acting as co-manager for the Offering.
