Comcast celebrated the completion of a broadband expansion project in Gordon County, Georgia. The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony at The Boys & Girls Club of North Georgia, followed by a community block party. During the event, 100 students were surprised with free laptops. During the event, Comcast and local leaders surprised nearly 100 students with free laptops, helping ensure more young people have the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond.The laptop giveaway is part of Project UP, the company's $1 billion commitment to create digital opportunity through programs and community partnerships that connect people to the Internet, advance economic mobility and open doors for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers and creators.Comcast also announced that the Club will become one of its newest Lift Zones – a dedicated space with free, high-speed Wi-Fi to help students and families get online, complete schoolwork, apply for jobs and build digital skills.The event marked another chapter in Comcast's ongoing partnership with The Boys & Girls Club of North Georgia.
